ABOUT MCC MEMBERSHIP

Merced Camera Club (MCC) membership is for a one-year term. In addition to the club’s regularly scheduled activities of photo competitions with comments and insights from judges, photography education, field trips/group activities, and inter-club competitions, MCC provides its members with a community of photographers who share your enthusiasm and passion for photography.

Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced photographer, you’ll find events and programs to meet your interests.

Other benefits include:

  • The Birdie newsletter: a monthly newsletter informing members of upcoming events, photography contests, photography tips tutorials, special photo programs, and winning images from the club’s competitions and special events.
  • Monthly Projected Image competitions where each submitted image is critiqued and scored by a photographer/judge.
  • Opportunity to attend the San Joaquin Valley Camera Club Council monthly meetings and competitions held in Fresno, CA
  • Access to our Camera Club website where members can create galleries, view other member’s galleries, and have access to articles, information and past issues of our newsletter.
  • Access to the Merced Camera Club Facebook Group where members can share and discuss photos, photographic opportunities, techniques, etc. 

 

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND DUES

Individual An Individual member is one person and is entitled to all privileges of the club. Dues: $30/year

Family Applies to two or more persons who are members of the same household. Family members are entitled to all privileges of the club. Dues: $40/year

Dues are paid annually, usually in the last quarter of the year for membership in the following year.  For new members who join MCC in September through December, dues will be prorated for the remainder of the year.  

 

HOW TO JOIN INSTRUCTIONS

1. Application

In the Create An Account field below, click on "Create a New User Account and Request Membership".  Follow the instructions to complete the application as required. Please do not click on Create a Guest Account.  This action is reserved for Judges. 

2. Membership Approval

Once your application is complete, the Membership Administrator will activate your account, set you up as a Competing Member or and Associate Member (non-competing) and assign you to a Competition Class (see below).  The Membership Administrator will send you an email with information about the club and information about your website activation.  The President of MCC will send you a Welcome email.  If you don't see your Membership Approval message within a few days of your submission, please check the "Junk Mail" folder of your email service. 

3. Pay Dues

MCC accepts cash, checks and Zelle payments.  Dues may be paid in person or mailed/sent to the Membership Administrator.  

 

COMPETITION LEVELS
MCC has different competition levels (Class C, Class A, Class AA and Class AAA) based on the member's photographic experience. New members are automatically assigned to Class A unless the new member requests to be assigned to Class AA and demonstrates and Intermediate photography skill level.
